Q: I have what I think is an Anna apple tree, but it is maturing fruit in November. I thought apples in the Valley only ripened fruit in early summer. The apples are only the size of golf balls and the leaves have brown edges. Do you have any diagnosis for my tree?

November is kind of a "hurry up and wait" month. The hurry is to complete those entire last outside chores before it freezes and snows. Then we wait for the cold to settle in if we have finished, and if not, we hope for a few days reprieve.
Gardening at this time of year is a bit like housework where you save yourself extra effort if you tidy as you go. The weather discourages long spells outside or is that just me?
